He married Polly Ann Moore on 23 September 1831, in Independence, Baxter, Arkansas, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 2 daughters. He lived in Izard, Arkansas, United States in 1843. He died on 23 February 1847, in La Angostura, Jesús María, Aguascalientes, Mexico, at the age of 52, and was buried in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico.
