When Olaf Sigurdsson was born in 1732, in Vestur-Skaftafellssýsla, Suðurland, Iceland, his father, Sigurður Björnsson, was 38 and his mother, Margrét Oddsdóttir, was 30. He married Anna Bjarnadottir in 1766, in Kirkjubæjarklaustur, Vestur-Skaftafellssýsla, Suðurland, Iceland. They were the parents of at least 2 sons. He died after 1801, in his hometown.
