When Leitu Fuavea Aiono was born in 1889, her father, Tuaifaiva Aiono, was 23 and her mother, Tafea Leapai Faamausili, was 21. She married Tuaovaigafa Ale in 1936, in Samoa. They were the parents of at least 2 sons. She died in 1960, at the age of 71, and was buried in Faleasiu, A'ana, Upolu, Samoa.
