He married Sarah Ann Robinson on 7 February 1833, in Washington, Missouri, United States. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 3 daughters. He lived in Nauvoo, Hancock, Illinois, United States in 1839. He died on 16 July 1851, in Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie, Iowa, United States, at the age of 39.
