When Lars Larsen was born on 13 July 1861, in Varhaug, Hå, Rogaland, Norway, his father, Lars Jonsen, was 45 and his mother, Marta Malena Pedersdtr, was 40. He married Clara Carlsdatter on 5 December 1886, in Grønland, Kristiania, Norway. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 1 daughter. He died on 8 February 1930, in Oslo, Norway, at the age of 68, and was buried in Nordstrand, Kristiania, Norway.
