Dominico Ballo was born on 21 March 1805, in Palermo, Sicily, Italy as the son of Andrea Ballo and Angela. He married Sarah Ann Johnson in 1826, in New York, United States. They were the parents of at least 3 daughters. He registered for military service in 1836. He died on 12 June 1861, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States, at the age of 56, and was buried in Salt Lake City Cemetery, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States.
