Brief Life History of Marilyn Janet

Marilyn Janet Kroc was born in Chicago Illinois in 1924. Her parents were Ray Kroc, and Ethel (Fleming). They have been married two years when she came along, and she was their only child. Her parents divorced in 1961. Her father was the man behind McDonald’s. She served on the board of directors of the company for many years. She had a passion for horses and was involved in Equestrian sports, including breeding and showing horses. She married Sylvester Nelson in 1949. That marriage ended in divorce. She married James Barg in 1960 in Chicago. She passed away in 1973 from complications of diabetes and her husband died in 1984. From the Chicago Tribune: 13 September 1973: BARG Lynn J. 1925 · The Goodman Theatre

The Goodman Theatre was founded as a tribute to the Chicago playwright Kenneth Sawyer Goodman, who died in the Great Influenza Pandemic in 1918. The theater was funded by his parents, who donated $250,000 to the Art Institute of Chicago. The first theater was designed by Howard Van Doren Shaw and its opening ceremony was performed on October 20.
