When Manoel Nonato Ferreira was born in 1949, in Jericoacoara, Jijoca de Jericoacoara, Ceará, Brazil, his father, Raimundo Nonato Ferreira, was 22 and his mother, Adaugiza Martins De Oliveira, was 17. He died in 1961, in his hometown, at the age of 12, and was buried in Jericoacoara, Jijoca de Jericoacoara, Ceará, Brazil.
