1927 · Kansas Adopts a Flag

The flag of the State of Kansas was adopted on September 24, 1927. The flag was designed by Hazel Avery in 1925.

1929 · Denver Airport opens

On Oct 17 1929, Denver Municipal Airport opens. Later, in 1964, it would be renamed Stapleton International Airport. It would be replaced by Denver International Airport, 31 years later.

1950 · FIS Apline World Ski Championships Held in Aspen

On Feb 13 1950, the World Ski Championships is held outside of Europe for the first time. The event is held at Ajax Mountain Ski Resort, in Aspen.
