He married Sarah Elizabeth Smith on 28 February 1804, in Lincoln, Tennessee, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 9 daughters. He lived in Lincoln, Tennessee, United States for about 10 years and Chariton Township, Randolph, Missouri, United States in 1850. He died on 1 January 1859, in Macon, Macon, Missouri, United States, at the age of 78, and was buried in Randolph, Missouri, United States.

1781 · The First Constitution

Serving the newly created United States of America as the first constitution, the Articles of Confederation were an agreement among the 13 original states preserving the independence and sovereignty of the states. But with a limited central government, the Constitutional Convention came together to replace the Articles of Confederation with a more established Constitution and central government on where the states can be represented and voice their concerns and comments to build up the nation.

1802 · DuPont Gunpowder Mill Established

in 1802, Eleuth�re Ir�n�� du Pont established the DuPont gun mill. It was the largest maker of explosive black powder. It was located along the Brandywine River near Wilmington.

Name Meaning

Most probably an altered form of Scottish Lingoch, ahabitational name from the lands of Lingoch (now Lingo) in Carnbee,Fife.
