When Melaia Tutukikuoola Lavaka 'Ahome'e was born on 21 June 1841, in Tongatapu, Tonga, her father, Tupou Tevita Ahome'e, was 24 and her mother, Lavinia Longoa'ame'e, was 42. She married Paula Maafu Tukuiaulahi about 1870, in Tongatapu, Tonga. They were the parents of at least 6 sons. She died on 26 August 1920, in Ha`avakatolo, Tongatapu, Tonga, at the age of 79, and was buried in Ha`avakatolo, Tongatapu, Tonga.
