He married Anne Magdalena Weaver in 1795, in Pennsylvania, United States. They were the parents of at least 8 sons and 7 daughters. He died on 24 December 1848, in Coshocton, Coshocton, Ohio, United States, at the age of 74, and was buried in Zion United Church Of Christ Cemetery, New Bedford, Coshocton, Ohio, United States.
