When King Joachim II Hector von Hohenzollern, Elector of Brandenburg, Germany, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden Herzog von Braunschweig-Lüneburg was born on 13 January 1505, in Cölln, Rockenhausen, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, his father, Joachim I Nestor , House of Hohenzollern, Elector of Brandenburg, and of Germany, was 20 and his mother, Elisabeth van Oldenburg, Electress Consort of Brandenburg, Princess of Denmark, Sweden, Norway, was 19. He married Maria Magdalena Wettin Dutchess von Sachsen on 6 November 1524, in Dresden, Kreis Dresden, Saxony, Germany. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 3 daughters. He died on 3 January 1571, in Köpenick, Treptow-Köpenick, Berlin, Germany, at the age of 65, and was buried in Berlin, Brandenburg, Prussia.
