When Celia Urrutia Pérez was born on 12 March 1928, in Cuyotenango, Suchitepéquez, Guatemala, her father, Arturo Urrutia Maldonado, was 22 and her mother, Maria Ester Perez de Urrutia, was 38. She died on 3 February 2009, in Chiquimula, Guatemala, at the age of 80, and was buried in San Francisco Zapotitlán, Suchitepéquez, Guatemala.
