When George John Wedgewood Boon was born in July 1899, in New Plymouth, New Plymouth, New Zealand, his father, John Walters Boon, was 32 and his mother, Ethel Maud Sparks, was 29. He married Margaret Shepherd in 1921, in New Zealand. He died on 15 February 1994, in Stratford, Taranaki, New Zealand, at the age of 94, and was buried in Kopuatama Cemetery, Stratford, New Zealand.
