When Hagbart Hansen was born on 21 January 1863, his father, Halvor Hansen, was 28 and his mother, Birthe Kirstine Hansdatter, was 27. He married Jenny Marie Olsen on 1 November 1885, in Bragernes, Buskerud, Norway. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 4 daughters. He died on 17 July 1940, at the age of 77.
