When Karoline Stichling was born on 8 August 1834, her father, Friederich Stichling, was 25 and her mother, Friederika Wieder, was 23. She married Johann Friedrich Gebhardt on 4 March 1858, in Gemmingen, Bezirksamt Eppingen, Baden, Germany. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 3 daughters. She died on 12 May 1904, at the age of 69.
