Sarah Symonds was born on 19 May 1786, in Salem, Essex, Massachusetts, United States as the daughter of William Simons and Sarah. She married Jonathan Very on 21 January 1838, in Salem, Essex, Massachusetts, United States. She lived in Utah, United States in 1870. She died on 6 February 1882, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States, at the age of 95, and was buried in Salt Lake City Cemetery, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States.

    1797 · Friendship of Salem Built

    Age 11

    On May 28, 1797, the Friendship of Salem was built. It was 102 feet long and 27 feet wide. It made fifteen voyages in its time. The ship was captured as a prize of war during the war of 1812.

    1811 · Joseph Story House Built

    Age 25

    Joseph Story built his house in 1811. That was the year he was made an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. He was the youngest ever justice.
