When Johannes Camphuis was born on 26 May 1865, in Leeuwarden, Friesland, Netherlands, his father, Jacobus Camphuis, was 34 and his mother, Jacomina Louisa Fokke, was 23. He married Hendrikje van der Vaart on 29 July 1914, in Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands. He died on 17 September 1944, in Renkum, Gelderland, Netherlands, at the age of 79.
