When Elizabeth Dwight was born on 18 March 1790, in Great Barrington, Berkshire, Massachusetts, United States, her father, Israel Dwight, was 19 and her mother, Susannah Gerry, was 21. She married Samuel Mott on 24 December 1807, in Orwell, Rutland, Vermont, United States. They were the parents of at least 10 sons and 5 daughters. She immigrated to Utah, United States in 1854 and lived in Bethany, Genesee, New York, United States for about 20 years and Decatur, Green, Wisconsin, United States in 1850. She died on 6 July 1865, in Payson, Utah, Utah, United States, at the age of 75, and was buried in Payson City Cemetery, Payson, Utah, Utah, United States.

English (Buckinghamshire): probably a variant of Twite , from various places called with Old Norse thveit ‘clearing’ (see Thwaites ). Alternatively, it may be a variant of Tuite .

History: Timothy Dwight (1752–1817), Congregational minister, author, and president of Yale College (1795–1817), was the dominant figure in the Established Order of CT. He was born in Northampton, MA, a descendant of John Dwight, who came from Dedham, England, in 1635 and settled in Dedham, MA, and the grandson of Jonathan Edwards, the great theologian of American Puritanism.
