1930 · The Tower City Center

Originally known as the Cleveland Union Terminal, the Tower City Center was originally commissioned by the Van Sweringen brothers. At the time, it was the second-largest excavation project in the world after the Panama Canal. From 1930 until 1964, the 52-story Terminal Tower was the tallest building in North America outside of New York City.

1947 · Ohio's First Television station

WEWS-TV first signed on the air on December 17 and was the first commercially licensed television station in Ohio. It has been the only station in Cleveland that has held the same frequency, ownership, and call letters since its initial sign-on. The first broadcast on the station was a Christmas pageant run by the Cleveland Press.

Slovak (Vozár); Serbian: occupational name for a driver (originally of a horse-drawn vehicle), derived from voz ‘cart’. In Serbia (Vojvodina), the name is at least in part of Slovak origin.

Croatian (Vožar): occupational name from vožar ‘rope maker’.
