1990 · Strangeways Prison Riot

Starting on April 1, 1990 thru April 25, 1990, the strangeways prison riots and protest took place in Strangeways Prison in Manchester, England. It started when prisoners took over the chapel of the prison. When it ended, 1 prisoner was dead, 147 prison officers were injured, and 47 prisoners were injured and 50 million pounds worth of damage to the prison.
