She married Niels Jørgensen Garff on 4 November 1842, in Særslev, Skippinge, Holbæk, Denmark. They were the parents of at least 9 sons and 2 daughters. She immigrated to United States in 1857 and lived in Salt Lake, Utah, United States in 1870 and Lehi Election Precinct, Utah, Utah, United States in 1900. She died on 7 February 1908, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States, at the age of 87, and was buried in Lehi City Cemetery, Lehi, Utah, Utah, United States.

A United States law to provide financial relief for the purchasers of Public Lands. Congress, also, extended credit to buyer for eight more years. Still while being in economic panic and the shortage of currency made by citizens, the government hoped that with the time extension, the economy would improve.
