When Hezekiah Hatch was born on 2 December 1798, in Charlotte, Chittenden, Vermont, United States, his father, Jeremiah Hatch, was 32 and his mother, Elizabeth Haight, was 26. He married Aldura Sumner on 3 February 1820, in Bristol, Addison, Vermont, United States. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 2 daughters. He lived in Addison, Vermont, United States for about 10 years. He died on 26 June 1843, in Nauvoo, Hancock, Illinois, United States, at the age of 44, and was buried in Old Nauvoo Burial Grounds, Nauvoo, Hancock, Illinois, United States.

1800 · Movement to Washington D.C.

While the growth of the new nation was exponential, the United States didn’t have permanent location to house the Government. The First capital was temporary in New York City but by the second term of George Washington the Capital moved to Philadelphia for the following 10 years. Ultimately during the Presidency of John Adams, the Capital found a permanent home in the District of Columbia.

This name has been in Ireland since the 17th century, associated with County Meath and the nearby part of Louth.
