When Elisabeth Suter was born on 7 November 1832, in Bözberg, Aargau, Switzerland, her father, Daniel Sutter, was 26 and her mother, Elisabeth Stoeckli, was 30. She married Jacob Bachman on 3 October 1852. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 6 daughters. She immigrated to Utah, United States in 1863. She died on 18 November 1866, in Eden, Weber, Utah, United States, at the age of 34, and was buried in Mountain View Cemetery, Eden, Weber, Utah, United States.

1836 · Remember the Alamo

Being a monumental event in the Texas Revolution, The Battle of the Alamo was a thirteen-day battle at the Alamo Mission near San Antonio. In the early morning of the final battle, the Mexican Army advanced on the Alamo. Quickly being overrun, the Texian Soldiers quickly withdrew inside the building. The battle has often been overshadowed by events from the Mexican–American War, But the Alamo gradually became known as a national battle site and later named an official Texas State Shrine.

U.S. acquires vast tracts of Mexican territory in wake of Mexican War including California and New Mexico.

1848

New Federal Constitution combining elements of the U.S. constitution (Federal State with central and cantonal (state) governments and parliaments) and of French revolutionary tradition. The Principles of this constitution are still valid today.
