Ellen Mary O'Keefe was born on 30 January 1839, in Tipperary, County Tipperary, Ireland as the daughter of Daniel O'Keefe and Anna O'Toole. She married Henry Ebenezer Bowring on 4 February 1856, in Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 5 daughters. She lived in Yonkers, Westchester, New York, United States in 1880. She died on 1 October 1909, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States, at the age of 70, and was buried in Salt Lake City Cemetery, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States.
