When David Hutchison was born on 29 March 1777, in Augusta, Virginia, United States, his father, John Hutchison Sr, was 47 and his mother, Isabel Logan, was 28. He married Martha Callaway on 29 March 1797, in Greenbrier, Virginia, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 8 daughters. He died on 19 October 1821, in Cabell, West Virginia, United States, at the age of 44.

1780 · Richmond Becomes the Capital

On April 18, 1780 Richmond became the capital of Virginia. It was the temporary capital from 1780-1788.

1781 · The First Constitution

Serving the newly created United States of America as the first constitution, the Articles of Confederation were an agreement among the 13 original states preserving the independence and sovereignty of the states. But with a limited central government, the Constitutional Convention came together to replace the Articles of Confederation with a more established Constitution and central government on where the states can be represented and voice their concerns and comments to build up the nation.
