When Kari Jakobsdatter was born on 30 November 1895, in Lom, Oppland, Norway, her father, Jakob Johannesson Ulemoen, was 27 and her mother, Marit Olsdotter Stamstadberget, was 31. She married Ola Olsson Haugen on 30 October 1920. She died on 9 July 1986, in her hometown, at the age of 90, and was buried in Lom, Oppland, Norway.
