He lived in Hants, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1827 and Salt Lake, Utah, United States in 1860. He died on 11 August 1879, in Spring Creek, Elko, Nevada, United States, at the age of 75, and was buried in Elko, Elko, Nevada, United States.
