Brief Life History of Margaretta Julia

Margretta Greatrix Cook was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1839(1840). She emigrated to America and crossed the plains to Utah in 1848. She belonged to the Morrisite faction until 1870, when she moved to Nevada. Maragretta was baptized a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in September 1873 at Sheridan, Douglas Nevada by David R Jones. She died of neuralgia of the heart.

1842 · Mines and Collieries Act of 1842

The Parliment of the United Kingdom passed the Mines and Collieries Act of 1842, mostly commonly known as the Mines Act of 1842. This act made it so that nobody under the age of ten could work in the mines and also females in general could not be employed.
