1926 · Mammoth Cave is Discovered

Age 5

In 1926, in central Kentucky, Mammoth Cave was discovered. It dates back to Mississippian times and consists of over four hundred miles of passageway. On July 1, 1941, the cave was made a National Park.
1931 · The Parthenon is Built

Age 10

In 1931, a full scale replica of the Parthenon in Greece was erected in Nashville, Tennessee. The Parthenon was meant to be temporary, but became a permanent part of Tennessee culture. It also has a replica of the statue of Athena the Goddess of War.At the same time a city over Memphis built  giant pyramid replica to remind everyone what the city was named for.

The atomic energy plant that was built in Oak RIdge, Tennessee. The land was acquired secretly by the government in order to help with the Manhattan Project. The Uranium for the project was housed in the facility.
