When Christian Hollinger was born on 1 January 1734, in Alliswil, Boniswil, Aargau, Switzerland, his father, Hans Jacobus Hollinger, was 32 and his mother, Anna Elisabeth Esterli, was 32. He married Eva Dorothea Foltz in 1755, in Warwick Township, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, British Colonial America. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 4 daughters. He died on 1 December 1802, in Frederick, Virginia, United States, at the age of 68, and was buried in Berkeley, Virginia, United States.
