When Maria Jesus Salas Palomares was born on 16 January 1916, in Chincha, Ica, Peru, her father, Humberto Salas Carrillo, was 21 and her mother, Margarita Palomares, was 20. She married Eliseo Castro in 1939, in Lima, Lima, Lima, Peru. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 1 daughter. She died on 7 August 1994, at the age of 78.
