Niels Andersen was born on 10 December 1816, in Skibinge, Vordingborg, Denmark as the son of Anders Pedersen and Ane Sofie Olsdatter. He married Mariane Larsen on 28 October 1853. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 1 daughter. He died on 9 October 1856, at the age of 39.
