    1906 · Saving Food Labels
    Age 1
    The first of many consumer protection laws which ban foreign and interstate traffic in mislabeled food and drugs. It requires that ingredients be placed on the label.
    1909 · A Summer Capitol
    Age 4
    Besides farming and shipping with the trolley up to Ogden Valley, there was an effort to convince the state of Utah to have a summer capitol near the town of Huntsville. Even though it didn’t happen, the Ogden Rapid Transit Company extended the Trolley route to Huntsville, so others could vacation there.
    1928 · Marathon Dances at the El Monte Springs Resort
    Age 23
    After the Ogden Canyon Resort burned down in 1927, Entrepreneur A.V. Smith bought the land and rebuilt the resort in brick. Naming it El Monte Springs, the resort featured a large swimming pool and a grand ballroom where dances were held until it shut its doors in 1932. The resort is still open but is a gift shop and restaurant under the name Rainbow Gardens.
