When Pitara Teupootahiti was born on 14 March 1861, in Punaauia, French Polynesia, his father, Teupootahiti TUU, was 23 and his mother, Taatatahiti TEFAARERE, was 21. He died on 6 December 1891, in his hometown, at the age of 30.
