1918 · Attempting to Stop the War

Age 1

To end World War I, President Wilson created a list of principles to be used as negotiations for peace among the nations. Known as The Fourteen Points, the principles were outlined in a speech on war aimed toward the idea of peace but most of the Allied forces were skeptical of this Wilsonian idealism.
1922 · Women Granted the Right to Vote

Age 5

The 19th Amendment, which allowed women the right to vote, was passed and became federal law on August 26, 1920. Georgia law prevented women from voting until 1922. The amendment wasn’t officially ratified until 1970.
1940 · Roosevelt County Museum Opens

Age 23

Six years after Eastern New Mexico University opened, the Roosevelt County Museum opened on the campus. The museum exhibits artifacts going back to the time of the early settlers and the Native Americans. It portrays the customs, folklore, technology, and more.
