Fanny Safian was born on 20 June 1901, in Poland as the daughter of Israel Isaac Safian and Chava Weinblot. She married Leon Itzak Chodorcove on 16 May 1922, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She died on 19 June 1988, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 86, and was buried in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

1918

Poland becomes independent. Poland becomes independent as WWI comes to an end. The country was devastated by the war. Approximately one million Poles died. All Polish institutions had to be rebuilt as the country once again formed a nation. The official boundaries are not set until 1923.

Pilsudski makes himself dictator of Poland. Despite the dictatorship, the economy stabilized at this time and culture continued to prosper.
