Ezequiel Zamora (1817-1860), leader of the Federalist Army in Venezuela, was assassinated.

1863

The hostilities of the Federal War ended with negotiations for the Treaty of Coche, singed on May 22. This was the biggest civil war Venezuela had had since its independence.
