1957 · Mighty Mac

"The 26,372 foot Mackinac Bridge was built to span the Straits of Mackinac which connects the Upper and Lower Peninsulas of the state of Michigan. Nicknamed ""Mighty Mac,"" the bridge was designed by engineer David B. Steinman and is the longest suspension bridge between anchorages in the Western Hemisphere.
