When Adeline May (Marie) Livingstone was born on 23 November 1896, in Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand, her father, Matthew Livingstone, was 41 and her mother, Catherine Sweeney, was 24. She married Roy Alexander Ahern on 4 September 1918, in Napier, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 2 daughters. She died on 5 October 1971, in Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand, at the age of 74, and was buried in Hamilton Cemetery, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
