When Florentina QUIÑONEZ-TAPIA was born in 1904, in Loíza, Puerto Rico, her father, Felipe QUIÑONEZ, was 39 and her mother, María Trinidad TAPIA-ORTIZ, was 39. She lived in Medianía Baja, Loíza, Puerto Rico in 1910. She died in 2004, in Loíza, Puerto Rico, at the age of 100, and was buried in Loíza, Puerto Rico.

Feminine form of Latin Florentinus, an elaborated form of Florens ( see Florence ). The name was borne by a 7th-century Spanish saint, the sister of the other saints Fulgentius, Isidore, and Leander.
