    Name Meaning

    Possibly an altered form of North German Brackner or South German Brachner, topographic names from Middle Low German brāk, Middle High German brāch ‘fallow, uncultivated (land)’, the suffix -ner denoting an inhabitant. The surnames Brackner and Brachner are very rare in Germany, the former is virtually non-existing.
