William Flagg was born on 14 July 1812, in Holden, Worcester, Massachusetts, United States as the son of Samuel Flagg and Keziah Clap. He married Louisa Hardy on 4 October 1837, in Kensington, Rockingham, New Hampshire, United States. They were the parents of at least 1 daughter. He lived in Worcester, Worcester, Massachusetts, United States in 1855. He died on 11 June 1843, in West Boylston, Worcester, Massachusetts, United States, at the age of 30, and was buried in West Boylston, Worcester, Massachusetts, United States.

1819 · Panic! of 1819

With the Aftermath of the Napoleonic Wars the global market for trade was down. During this time, America had its first financial crisis and it lasted for only two years. 

1820 · Making States Equal

The Missouri Compromise helped provide the entrance of Maine as a free state and Missouri as a slave state into the United States. As part of the compromise, slavery was prohibited north of the 36°30′ parallel, excluding Missouri.

1821 · Financial Relief for Public Land

A United States law to provide financial relief for the purchasers of Public Lands. It permitted the earlier buyers, that couldn't pay completely for the land, to return the land back to the government. This granted them a credit towards the debt they had on land. Congress, also, extended credit to buyer for eight more years. Still while being in economic panic and the shortage of currency made by citizens, the government hoped that with the time extension, the economy would improve.
