He married Lovina Susan Williams on 19 November 1834, in Geauga, Ohio, United States. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 3 daughters. He lived in Quincy, Adams, Illinois, United States in 1850. He died on 8 June 1866, in Henry, Iowa, United States, at the age of 55, and was buried in Woodland Cemetery, Quincy, Adams, Illinois, United States.
