WWI. Hungary fights on the losing side and the monarchy collapses.
1920

Hungary loses large part of territory to Czechoslovakia, Romania, Russia and Yugoslavia. The National Assembly restores Kingdom of Hungary. Horthy becomes regent and remains influential until 1944.
1938

Germany raise treaties in Munich and Vienna in which Southern Slovakia and Northern Transylvania were returned to Hungary.

1 Norwegian: habitational name from any of various farmsteads named Bergo, from the dative plural form of berg ‘mountain’, ‘hill’.2 In some instances, perhaps a respelling of French Bergaud, from a Germanic personal name composed of the elements berg- (from Middle High German bergan ‘to conceal’) + wald ‘rule’.
