When Thomas Hoo the Elder was born about 1396, in Luton Hoo, Bedfordshire, England, his father, Sir Thomas Hoo, was 35 and his mother, Eleanor Felton, was 31. He married Elizabeth Wychingham before 1 July 1428. They were the parents of at least 1 daughter. He died on 13 February 1455, in his hometown, at the age of 60, and was buried in Herstmonceux, Sussex, England.
