When Rasmus Hansen Vindeby was born on 6 July 1788, in Birket, Birket, Lollands Nørre, Maribo, Denmark, his father, Hans Windebye, was 34 and his mother, Birthe Pedersdatter, was 31. He married Ane Cathrine Vilhelmsdr on 4 October 1817, in Birket, Halsted Klosters, Denmark. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 3 daughters. He lived in Birket, Toreby, Ålholm, Denmark in 1834 and Birket, Lollands Nørre, Maribo, Denmark for about 11 years. He died on 26 October 1853, in Spring City, Sanpete, Utah, United States, at the age of 65.

The Old Artillery Barracks was the first of three barracks to be established in the Christianshavn district of Copenhagen. They were converted into barracks for the Artillery in 1789 and were used until 1923. Today, they have been converted into apartments and are listed for everyone.
