He married Sabrina Harrison on 10 February 1846, in Bureau, Illinois, United States. They were the parents of at least 10 sons and 2 daughters. He lived in Wright, Iowa, United States in 1895 and Troy Township, Wright, Iowa, United States in 1900. He died on 27 January 1901, in Eagle Grove, Wright, Iowa, United States, at the age of 76, and was buried in Woolstock, Wright, Iowa, United States.
