He married María Antonia Villamil Lopez on 23 June 1899, in Copán Ruinas, Copán, Honduras. They were the parents of at least 8 sons and 4 daughters. He died on 2 February 1946, in his hometown, at the age of 78, and was buried in Copán Ruinas, Copán, Honduras.
